Relaxing Oasis Meditation

I hope everyone is doing well and seeking the relaxation that is deserved after a crazy day, week, month (I could go on!!!). It’s definitely been a stressful second semester at work, and have been feeling a little down. There is no root cause, it just feels like the energy has been crazy in the world and I’m having a hard time pushing it away. I’ve recently been doing more meditations (short quick ones) to find relaxation during this crazy time. It has really helped. It’s funny because it takes me so much to sit and be still for awhile, but after I finish meditating, I feel super relaxed and a little more centered. This helps me to evaluate what I need to do and my feelings.

While I was in my 200 YTT, I took a separate course on meditation by Melissa Crowhurst. It was great and highly recommend it. This course is quick and great for beginners that are not sure where to start. She includes a couple of different meditations and a template on how you can create your own. While I learned a little about meditation in my 200 YTT, I delved deeper in my 300 YTT. I was able to explore different kinds of meditation a little bit more and was able to write my own. One assignment was for me to write my own meditation and then record myself saying it. This is where the Relaxing Oasis Meditation was born! I delved deep down and thought about the place that I feel most at peace. No surprise, but it’s the beach! Hearing the ocean, walking on the sand, looking for shells, it’s amazing! There’s no better feeling (for me). Therefore, I took my own personal oasis and wrote a meditation around it for relaxation. I really liked putting it together. However, it is a little weird listening to my own voice. I don’t know if I sound relaxing…LOL!

After recording my meditation, I thought, WOW, it would be AMAZING to help others try to find their inner peace. The universe must have heard me because about a month ago, I was scrolling through the Yoga School’s FB group that I’m in, and a student posted that they wanted to get certified in meditation. I went through the comments and found someone that mentioned Yogamu, a yoga school that you can also get certified in meditation. I looked them up, and after asking the universe to send me a sign, I registered for their 100 hr meditation certification course and have been enjoying it! I’m almost a quarter through the class because I’m taking it slow. I am really focusing on the different types of meditation and how what works for you might not work for someone else. A neat thing that I learned is that instead of focusing on “breathing in light, and letting go of negativity”, you picture yourself breathing in the negative and envisioning your heart (because it’s good and pure) turning it into goodness and love. This is what you breathe out. It definitely took a little of getting used to, because I’ve been used to being taught to breathe in and then breathe out whatever doesn’t serve you. Heck, I’ve even used it in some of my videos! I’m excited to delve more into the course and incorporate it into my videos. I’m only 15% in, and I’ve learned so much!

Now back to my Relaxing Oasis Meditation! I’m one that doesn’t have tons of time to sit and do a 30 min or more meditation. Therefore, I wanted to make this meditation quick, simple, but satisfying. I hope you like it and it brings relaxation to your day! Let me know what you think! Hope everyone has an amazing week!
